Determined Like A Daffodil

You've probably seen all those quizzes on Facebook that ask you which TV character etc you are...I took one recently that was "Which flower are you?" According to this scientific (not) personality test...I am a daffodil. While these quizzes are amusing, I have to admit the description was pretty true of me:

"Life is a journey, and you take the time to smell every single rose along the way. Your brain is a sponge, soaking every detail of life around you, and you constantly look inward to figure out the ties that bind you to the universe. Curiosity may have killed the cat, but it's what makes you tick."

Happily, I've finished my undergraduate studies and am preparing for my graduate studies in a few months. The graduation process was both numbing and exciting. I was definitely not prepared emotionally for yet another transition. It feels like my life is a series of transitions. Nevertheless, it was pretty amazing to have family from all over the world (and from the northern and southern tips of the USA) come to the little town in hicks-ville Ohio to celebrate with me. It was also neat to then have a couple weeks of vacationing around the North-Eastern states with family.

Now I'm bracing for the next round of school, and honestly am terrified. I know that my grad-school faculty will support me and make sure I'm on target, so that at least brings some encouragement. I know from this point on, my "career change" is actually happening. As I work towards my license and start working with the population I hoped to, I have to keep remembering those who inspired me and maintaining the professional and personal support.

Thanks to everyone who has helped me to this point and who have enjoyed the journey with me (even with my lack of posting on this blog!!)
